Centre Puzzles

The Centre currently publishes crosswords every other weekend. alternating between Canadian Capital and Neighbourhood puzzles. Both styles, described in further detail below, are intended to feature a distinctly Canadian element while still being fully playable without it!
CANADIAN WORDSEARCH PUZZLES

These puzzles double as a form of word-search: in each, the name of a Canadian city will emerge - built into the grid! To accomodate the new crossword medium, the typical wordsearch rules have been changed a little:

1) the name can be written forward or backward, and placed horizontally, vertically, or diagonally;

2) the name is written in a straight line, continuing over black blocks in its way, except

3) if the name reaches the edges of the grid, it will continue at a ninety degree angle from the original direction, forming an L shape. As a helpful reminder, please find below a list of Canadian capitals:

Alberta Edmonton
British Columbia Victoria

New Brunswick Fredericton

NEIGHBOURHOOD PUZZLES

A Neighbourhood puzzle is about as local as you can get: plucked straight from the street grid, the crossword recreates a local intersection! To keep it fair, this will only rely on streets whose names are knowable and clueable outside of their urban context; but for the intrepid and the curious, the puzzle will include a Google Maps link to the neighbourhood hosting the intersection.
